A compact, experimental home-built camera prototype on a clean workbench, featuring a 3D-printed matte black body with visible layer lines, a repurposed vintage lens mounted on a custom metal plate, and a removable back showcasing a unique film advance mechanism. Around it lie hand-sketched optical diagrams, a caliper, and a small pile of prototype 3D-printed parts. Late afternoon light from a side window creates a soft, warm glow, with contrasting cooler reflections from a nearby computer monitor subtly visible on the camera’s surface. Photographic realism with a slightly elevated three-quarter angle, moderate depth of field, and a balanced composition that highlights the fusion of engineering experimentation, optical design, and practical photography.
